AHH! a meteor! - a comic on the theme of ∞

I made this comic for WIP Comics's Infinity anthology in 2025.

It was WIP's 8th anthology, and each comic had to have only 8 panels. The 8 was tipped into ∞, and we had the anthology's theme, 'Infinity'.

In the following months, I had many half-formed ideas for my comic, and nearing the submission deadline, I was struggling to make one of them work.

I showed a different, earlier idea to someone, they liked it, so after managing to give up the other idea, I went with it.

Inspired by the 2 characters talking in Carsha_aka_the_cartoon_sheep's comic in WIP Short Stories, I added a second character for funner dialogue; and developed my idea.

I painted the first 7 panels on separate sheets of black, A4 paper, using poster paint. I was going for a loose style, but still, I had to do multiple coats in places so the paint wasn't too see-through. The final panel I tried to do the same way, but the lighter background, I didn't think looked good, so I cut out the 2 dinosaurs and made the other elements with cut-out coloured paper and watercolours. I scanned the pages, corrected the colours in GIMP, and put the panels together in Inkscape.

From when I changed to this idea, it took me ~9 days, and a late night till 6 in the morning, to finish just in time. :)
